Let us pray with courage, confidence, and a vision of the future call you have for each of us. And with equal confidence, we must answer the call when the Lord beckons us to stand and face our enemy, knowing that as we do, we must, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (Eph 6:11-13) FROM FRANKLIN GRAHAM: We need to pray for PEACE, because "the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God" (James 1:20). Pray for PERSPECTIVE, because "the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere" (James 3:17). Pray for PATIENCE, because of God's "kindness and forbearance and patience" toward us all (Romans 2:4). And pray for an OUTPOURING of His wisdom and direction for our leaders and officials who are dealing with this nation’s crisis. Ask God to change hearts and heal this divide in our nation. Lord, we also pray for repentance for without it we cannot move forward into the fullness of your plan for our nation. Jesus cried out to the city that would kill him, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!” (Matthew 23:37) Lord, move our hearts towards that willingness to be “gathered”. Let us submit to your will and walk the path you have set before us. Move our leaders to set this example and call them to walk in humble obedience to your commands like never before. And as leaders’ hearts are turned let it inspire more and more Americans to follow. We pray for a revival in our land. Let us strive to create an America where God is honored in the public square so that we may rebuild a nation which our children and grandchildren can thrive in once again. We know, Lord, that turning a ship as large as America may take time but we trust in you to provide all that we need while we battle against the forces of darkness. Finally, Father, we praise you and thank you for your patience with and faithfulness towards us. We realize that we are not worthy on our own and have earned nothing but we will continue to pray and pursue your righteousness so that our efforts may be found pleasing to you. Correct us, direct us, and bless us as we step in faith. Amen Other Reading / Resources:

Why pray?Lifting our elections up to the Lord helps all of us keep the focus on the most important topics as well as softens our hearts to love everyone, even those with whom we may disagree. Believing differently shouldn't stop us from sharing God's love and His Word with others. Archives
