We're all tired of the campaign but now we have to be ready to sustain the fight that is already brewing. We know the Democrats will try to claim victory even if they have not earned it. Praise the Lord that we have retained the Senate and Texas has stayed solidly Red. Is a Civil War coming? Is it already here? Rest up when you can, friends, because the fight is just beginning and I'm not sure when or if it will ever end. The Bible says this about the battle: Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith." 1 Pet. 5:8-9 "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Cor. 10:3-5 "In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Rom. 8:37 "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." 2 Thess. 3:3 When we belong to Christ, the enemy never has the final word over our lives. We are secure in God's hands. Press on – courageous and free – never held back by fear or defeat. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has the final victory. Quiet Your Heart Psalm 46:10 – Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Being still is foreign to most Americans. There’s so much going on. Noise assaults your ears from every side. Your to-do list is never done. God wants you to cultivate stillness in your life. Quieting yourself is intentional. One way to capture it is to take your focus off the things that are not in your control. Slow down physically when you can. Seek times of refreshment in God’s Word. Seek release from your anxieties through prayer. Your best reminder for being still is God’s reassurance that He is still in control. He is sovereign; He has a plan and a purpose, and He is working it. My Heavenly Father, thank You that I can know that just because the world around me is in chaos, it doesn’t mean I need to join in. Thank You that You have provided in Yourself a safe place…a sanctuary…to which I can retreat when I am anxious. Forgive me for trying to assume the responsibility for things I have no control over. Give me the peace promised by Jesus, “not as the world gives,” but true peace that comes from being still with You. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. As the polls closed on Tuesday and with counts still in process, President Donald Trump announced that he would address the nation from the East Room of the White House. Even if the election is still undecided, former advisor Kellyanne Conway who is working with the president’s campaign team said that the president would speak sometime overnight. Due to delays in the final results, the address was pushed back until early Wednesday morning. The president, congressional leaders, and the nation continue to watch the results in anticipation. While he is expected to remain at the White House today, the president’s official schedule is highly subject to change as he meets with campaign officials and national leaders. Why pray?Lifting our elections up to the Lord helps all of us keep the focus on the most important topics as well as softens our hearts to love everyone, even those with whom we may disagree. Believing differently shouldn't stop us from sharing God's love and His Word with others. Archives
