I will be an Election Judge today and will not post a prayer. But I will be logging in for our Zoom prayer time right at 5pm. Hope you can join us! PRAYER POINTS TO GUIDE YOU AS YOU PRAY

Election Day is tomorrow! Don’t stop praying now! Now is the time for double duty on our knees. Eyes opened wide watching for what the Lord would show us. Ears open and mouth closed (you all know how hard that is for me!) so that we may hear him clearly and not miss a single syllable. Hands and hearts open and willing to do what He asks of us. oday I want to focus on gratitude. I am blessed to be able to serve as an Election Judge tomorrow. It’s a busy job both before and during Election Day. But God knows what we need in order to serve Him and He is faithful to provide it. We just have to be available with a willing heart. Yesterday, I got to meet most of the members of our Election Day team and they were all so encouraging and ready to serve. We have a very busy day ahead of us and all are praying that any obstacles will be swept from the road. To be surrounded by and work shoulder to shoulder with a multitude of amazing people is humbling. We know that “many hands make light work” (John Heywood) but the Bible says it this way: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Our team will be successful tomorrow and I don’t just mean my Election Day team. I mean God’s team. No matter what happens, which races are successful and which are not, we can depend on our Lord and Savior to provide, protect, encourage, defend, forgive, and more as we walk through whatever the future holds. He holds the key to true and everlasting victory. Walking in gratitude helps me to recognize all of those gifts from God and to never take any of them for granted. It also helps me see the good in those around me. Even those with whom I may disagree. Let us be beacons of God’s gifts, sharing them generously with all whom we touch. Gratitude is infectious but it has to start with someone – let that be each of us, today and tomorrow! Lord, bless and strengthen us as we walk through good and bad, always looking for you and your light. Thank you for not forsaking us. Thank you for who you are, the alpha and the omega. Thank you for bringing others into our lives with whom we can work for your glory. Thank you for opening our eyes to your plans. Thank you for showing us how to bless others with what you provided. Thank you for bold voices who proclaim the truth in this dark world. Thank you for the light you provide that encourages us each day. And THANK YOU for the gift of your precious son, Jesus, who has made a way for each one of us. The list could go on and on and on, Father. Thankfully, you know our hearts and you know the depth of our gratitude as well as the unspoken “thank yous”. Father, we lift up our country, our election, and all candidates that are working to preserve this incredible land that was fashioned on Godly principles. May we see your awesome power tomorrow and may you protect us from the evil that wants to crush the spirit of America. We understand that victory commonly requires sacrifice and we admit to you that sacrifice is not always easy for us. Psalm 37:23-24 says “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down For the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Help us to walk out the steps that you have ordered for each of us, Father. Let us feel your hand in ours as you lead us. Let us sense your loving, comforting Holy Spirit whenever we are confused or “cast down”. Your love and care for us knows no bounds – praise be to you forever, El Shaddai, our Lord God Almighty. Amen PRAYER POINTS FOR THIS ELECTION:
On Sunday, President Trump declared November 2020 to be National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, stating, “Throughout this month, we come together as a Nation and pledge our heartfelt support for Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. … The First Lady and I hold all those affected by this challenging condition close to our hearts, and pledge our commitment to finding a cure.” He also proclaimed it National Diabetes Month, saying, “As we collectively observe National Diabetes Month, the First Lady and I pray for the millions of Americans who are living with this condition. Together, we will continue working towards innovative and affordable cures and therapies to secure a healthier future for all.” AS THE LORD LEADS, PRAY FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP… • For safe travels for President Trump as he campaigns in multiple states today. • For the president’s administration as they seek to help those who suffer from Alzheimer’s along with their caregivers. • For the administration to bring relief to those who live with diabetes. Can Justice Be Blind? The bible says in Isaiah 1:26, “I will restore your judges as at the first and your counselors as at the beginning, and afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.” During this election season justice or injustice has become central to the candidates and those who support them. The sculpture of lady justice holds aloft a set of scales indicating to all who seek her out that they will receive evenhanded treatment despite wealth, station, or any other criteria. In the first chapter of Isaiah, God is declaring that there was corruption in the courts of Jerusalem. Lawyers were giving bad advice, judges were making rulings that favored their own careers. As it says in Amos 5:13 “even the prudent keeps silent for it was an evil time”. Today, you see news accounts where the scales of justice are being tipped. City prosecutors and state attorney generals appear to be looking the other way when a criminal of one ideological bent or another come before them. Social justice activism that results in mayhem is scarcely prosecuted. As it was in ancient Israel so it is in some parts of America today. Social order cannot be maintained when scales are tipped and justice is denied. Unlike Israel, people of conscience, the prudent, must not remain silent. Most Holy God you have told us many times in your Word what is required of us. One such thing is to do justice. Moral righteousness is the very essence of your character and you desire that attribute to be found in us as well. Our hearts grow heavy when we see how justice in America is and isn’t being administered. Protesters in the streets cry out for justice but then they behave lawlessly. Prosecutors have criminals brought before them who are not charged even at the highest level our newest Supreme Court justice has had her character questioned because she has faith in you. We ask for supernatural wisdom to come into those who are in positions of authority but act defiantly when it comes to administering the law of the nation. Sear their conscience with your truth May each of us who hold Jesus as our savior be law abiding and good examples to those around us. We bless you for all that you are and we ask it in Jesus’ name. Amen. -Prayer from Jim Bolthouse, President of Presidential Prayer Team PRAYER POINTS FOR THIS ELECTION:

Why pray?Lifting our elections up to the Lord helps all of us keep the focus on the most important topics as well as softens our hearts to love everyone, even those with whom we may disagree. Believing differently shouldn't stop us from sharing God's love and His Word with others. Archives
